Microsoft MCSA Documentation Training

By Myron Len

The pros know: When talking of boosting resumes and showing skills, not all certs are made equal.

Many IT pros stress the proven fact that some accreditations are way more valuable than others in the present day's market. Though technologies consistently develop and new licenses often become available in specific areas, the importance of holding basic certifications should not be overlooked.

Microsoft Licensed Systems Director (MCSA) authorization is among a handful of IT essential components many execs depend on to display their abilities working with systems running Windows Server operating systems.

Share of the market boosts MCSA certification's value

According to an early 2011 report from Network World, nearly 90 p.c of all PCs worldwide run on a Microsoft operating system. With such a vast proportion of the market using Windows, IT pros with strong accreditations from Microsoft, including MCSA documentation, are likely to be significant players on any technology team.

Why the MCSA validation works for IT pros

According to Microsoft, the MCSA certification "helps enable IT execs to demonstrate their abilities to administer network and systems environments with Windows Server 2003-based business solutions." It can be regarded as a stepping stone to the MCSE (Microsoft Certificated Systems Engineer) and other certs.

Though Windows Server 2003 might seem like a dated operating systemâ€"indeed, official conventional support from Microsoft ran out in July 2010â€"it's necessary to be aware of the software's endurance in global market. Just as, according to a May 2011 report from Tech Spot, 53 p.c of all Computers run Windows XP, many firms have found no reason to replace their Windows Server 2003 platforms with Windows Server 2008 or 2008 R2 yet. That said , for newer technologies like Windows Server 2008 or Exchange Server 2010, Microsoft suggests pursuing the MCITP (Microsoft Certified IT Pro) title.

According to Microsoft, IT pros eligible for MCSA candidacy sometimes have "one to 12 months of expertise in working with a desktop operating software, a network OS and an existing network infrastructure." For most execs, MCSA certification can be acquired after earning passing marks on 4 tests.

MCSA authentication makes a difference in the job marketplace

Microsoft boasts that workers who hold its certifications are valuable members of any IT staff, saying, "Training and certification are necessary to maintain a significant amount of performance." The company says that 63 p.c of higher-level chiefs accept that licensed individuals are more productive on the job and that certs authenticate topical abilities.

Earning MSCA verification might make a larger payslip a reality, too. According to information updated in May of 2011 from PayScale.com, annual salary for an IT manager with MCSA validation typically goes from $55,900 to $85,817.
