Robots Gift Suggestions

By Tim Loenders

As intelligent members residing in the upper levels of the evolutionary table we take great pleasure in reminding and reinforcing our power over everything. After plants, animals even lifeless objects are taken as domestic tools, it is now time to make robots obey our iron will! So here we are with our list of robotic Christmas gift suggestions;

- The Roboni-I, a highly-intelligent robot that fuses interactive, remote-controlled gameplay with advanced robotic technology. A great toy for robotics enthusiasts, Roboni-i can also be linked to your computer, allowing to reprogram his behavior and upload customized games which makes it a gaming platform with all kinds of impressive capabilities including...personality

- The Hexbug Crab is a robotic friend for kids which behaves just like a real crab. This wonderful mechanized crawling thing has a personality of its own. It can find its path and tries to avoid obstacles with built-in sensors. Why You'll Love It: Kids can also help it change direction making a sound or clapping as it has light and sound sensors too.

The Sphero is the world's first robotic ball you control with a tilt, tap, or touch on your smartphone. Cats and other pets will also love this little guy, its like a tennis ball with an attitude. Your experience changes with every new game app you download, and with single or multi-player games Sphero will always surprise you.

- The WowWee Rovio Web Cam is right up that alley. The remote controlled camera on wheels can be programmed with your own personal devices so that you can keep a moving eye on your home or office from anywhere in the world. Its one part home security, one part Mars Rover, ten parts awesome. All we need now is the Rolex watch phone and a deadly bowler hat and we'll be ready to fight evil villains ourselves.

If you think robots are just for kids or for adults who are kids at heart think again. Let me remind you of two of the most gadget wise gentlemen of our time: 007 and Batman. Nerds or children they were not. These guys are the best examples of masculine heroism and they wouldn't be where they are without their ingenious devices.

So get a stash of AA batteries and prepare for the fun!
