Advantages Of Using RAD Rapid Application Development

By Jasmine Cummings

The demand for appropriate software products to run the many emerging needs is putting pressure on developers to deliver quality products faster. As such finding and using approaches that can meet this requirement and demands is very important. RAD rapid application development is one such approach.

At the heart of programming are user requirements. These can be represented in different ways including a model. This prototype as is also called helps the user and developer to clearer understand the requirements. As such a quality product can then be build based on such a view.

Various factors determine the success of any project including software. The cost time and quality are the most critical. Additionally available resources also determine the project success. All these factors work interdependently to ensure that the implementation of the project is a success

Cost and time are weighty factors for any project success. Generally adjusting these factors will positively or negatively impact on the project quality. The quality of the deliverable is one of the determinants of project success.

The evolution process may commence with a prototype. This is a model representing the initial user requirements. Eventually this model can be fine tuned to produce the final product. This represents the prototype that closely matches the user requirements.

Meeting the increased demand will most definitely use methods like RAD Rapid Application Development to software building. As such the various building phases are assigned time dependent slots within which they must be accomplished. It may be necessary to readjust costs to ensure that such implementations are carried out within these time frames. Generally speed is of essence during such a method. As such techniques like prototyping where a model is used to elicit user requirements is common. Additionally time boxing can also be used to allocate definite time slices for each of the phases of the project
