The 10 Minute Technique To Getting Better Toner

By Michael Insana

It can be a real struggle to continue to enjoy your printer when you first realize that it will cost you an extraordinary amount of money to replace your used ink cartridges. If you have ever wondered why the cost of a printer seems to be so incredibly low, you may want to think about the fact that a printer company uses the very high profits from printer cartridges to make back the cost of the printer.

One way to save money on your printer costs is to simply reduce how often you are printing documents, though this can be an unreasonable thing to ask when your business runs on printing things. Another possibility you may have considered was whether you can refill your own cartridges. Printer manufacturers are going to tell you their side of the story -- that refilling your own cartridges can lead to a lot of damage -- but their interests are understandably not aligned with yours. This post will be focusing on the real truth to this question.

Many people have been pleased to discover that there is every possibility of being able to refill your own cartridges. The best way to do so is to use a refill kit that is sold by any number of independent companies. Once you start using the refilling kits (which come complete with new ink, injecting syringe, and instructions to use the kit), you'll very quickly start realizing how much money you are saving. This operation should only be done if you are willing to get messy, as the process of refilling ink cartridges can be quite sloppy.

When you are ready to start refilling your ink cartridges, there are two other things you should consider purchasing: a mat or some other way of covering your flooring, and a good pair of latex gloves.

Most printer cartridges will contain some kind of label that will show you where to find the hole in the cartridge; this is where you'll want to begin. The replacement ink for your cartridge will be inserted in this hole. To get the ink from the reservoir into the ink cartridge, you'll need to insert the included syringe from your kit. Because many of the cartridges you will come across will have a sponge sitting just inside the hole to keep the ink inside the cartridge, you should make sure that you put the syringe as far into the cartridge as possible.

The best thing about the refill kits is that they work will nearly every major printer brand on the market today.
